Inspectors assist field engineering staff to achieve quality construction in accordance with the plans and specifications.

Entry level duties are described below.  Higher level responsibilities may be assigned based on experience.

Quality Management

• Observes and inspects construction activities.
• Reviews contracts, plans, and specifications.

Contract Administration

• Prepares field measurements and quantity calculations.
• Prepares daily reports and other project documentation.
• Reviews and processes project correspondence.
• Assists in project closeout both internally and externally.

We typically require previous field inspection experience on road, highway, and/or bridge projects.  IDOT, ISHTA, WisDOT, or CDOT experience may be preferred based on the specific project assignment.
