Job Description

DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION SERVICES
LOCATION: GENERAL OFFICE EAU CLAIRE, WI
REPORTS TO: MANAGER
TRAVEL REQUIRED? OCCASIONAL
PAY RANGE: $17.25/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Intern will execute test cases and automated scripts in support of quality assurance processes, application testing, and data analysis of software systems in a combined Unix/Windows environment. This position works closely with Technical Leads, Application Developers and Business Analysts to ensure testing accurately reflects the desired use of the applications.

The position requires 15-20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software Manual Testing:

  • Interpret written and verbal requirements to create test cases with expected results
  • Execute test cases and document actual results
  • Create defects and communicate with development as they work towards resolving the issues
  • Follow processes to identify discrepancies, report defects and validate actual test results vs. expected

Software Automation Testing:

  • Execute automated functional test scripts
  • Execute load tests and document results
  • Create automated functional test scripts under supervision

Other:

  • Suggest and recommend better ways of improving the quality of work within a team
  • Other tasks as assigned by Team Leader or Manager




Skills/Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Actively enrolled in a college/university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Programming or MIS related field and is within three semesters of graduation.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of “Blackbox” and “Whitebox” testing
  • Must understand the application development process and testing life cycle.
  • Experience using IT development technologies, such as MSSQL, MySQL, JavaScript, Java.
  • May be required to work overtime including weekends.
  • Must be able to work in Eau Claire, WI for the duration of the internship
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
